9/11/17

Well this week was great .  We found 4 new people to teach and there are some really good ones.   We had a super exciting lesson with Zach and Autumn last night and I think we will have a great one tonight as well with the Ewalds then we have to drive to Farmington... I got transferred..... (end of mission humor) 

My ponderize scripture

is Moroni 10 verse 33  33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.

 I also really like the next verse too but I highlighted this one this week because I have been doing President Nelsons challenge to go through the topical guide under Jesus Christ. It has been great and I really like this one. I know that it is only though Jesus Christ that we can be sanctified and receive a remission of our sins.

 What a week!   I love being a missionary we had zone conference on Wednesday and had a cleanest truck competition and..... WE WON  !!!!! We spent a ton of time on the truck during our Prep. day on Monday.  It was worth it though I got a certificate and most of all RESPECT!  hahah It's not actually a very big deal to win but I haven't yet so thought we better do that. I learned a ton from the conference itself about teaching and missionary work in general.  Our mission President's wife Sister Adams gave a training on the holy ghost and having him in our lessons and with us ALL the time not just in lessons but in the car in the store etc. Sunday was tough Elder Howell got sick for the day but he is better now. We had a member of the 70 come to 1st ward unannounced... that was interesting. I don't know how but everyone in 5th ward knows I am going home now.... news travels fast in Blanding I guess 

 Also , my Ponderize scripture is Doctrine and Covenants Section 93 Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandments, shall see my face and know that I am;  

I am doing the Jesus Christ Topical guide challenge as a part of my personal study and it is amazing I honestly was skeptical not sure why I was but I  am not anymore.  I found this one yesterday and I loved it.  We have to be obedient and we will meet our savior someday and we will be able to do so with confidence.

Wow a great week I went to my last meeting in Farmington and it was so sad.  I love those meetings there is a really strong spirit there and the acoustics are fantastic! This week we had some great lessons and did a lot of searching for people. One miracle is the lesson we had with Zack and Autumn the young couple. They are amazing and they are excited to keep learning.  Zack is already a member and is the only one in his family who isn't active his whole family just came back into activity a few years ago.  Autumn investigated the church a while ago but and got close to baptism but backed out at the last minute now they want to know. They even said that they didn't really care before but now it " feels different "

 My ponderize scripture is 2 chronicles chapter 20 verse 20 ¶"..... Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.'' 

I love this it sounds so simple and it really is but simple doesn't always mean easy something i just really liked.

This week was something else that is mostly a good thing. I read the talk rise to you call again I haven't read that in like  1 year and 7 months or so. WOW that talk was what I needed in fact thats were I got my ponderize scripture from.  its Ephesians 6:12 it says 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

you will hear my long explanation of this and reasons later but it applies to us right now a ton also what a neat eclipse today we went up on the blue mountain there are pictures form bluff and another hike we did a few weeks ago with some investigators and I think a selfie that elder howell took and I was in it so yeah I still dont like to take selfies

This week was great we had 4 lessons that where just down right power full the spirit was unbelievable and of course fun hahahaha everything is fun as a missionary (almost everything but its all worth it). One of them was a lady who was visiting friends here and said she was ready to be baptized almost 20 plus years later after she was introduced to the gospel. She wants to be sealed to her husband who passed on already and had his work done by some friends who are members. We got to teach her the first two lessons the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation. it was so amazing after the first lesson we committed her to pray and ask if Joseph smith is a prophet and if the book of Mormon is true and of course if Jesus Christ is the savior and author of the restoration. She prayed and she got her answer that it is all true. it was so sweet in that room a 70 year women learned the most important things of her life and we were there to witness it.  How amazing.! The elders in her hometown in Idaho will be meeting with her soon.

My ponderize scripture is 1 nephi chapter 16 verse 4 

 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did exhort my brethren, with all diligence, to keep the commandments of the Lord.

 I love this and I felt a little guilty when I read it I started to ask well I can't be as good as nephi then I remembered the  verse just before that says "....wherefore, the guilty taketh the truth to be hard, for it cutteth them to the very center."  so yeah I need to be more diligent so I am reading the talk Act in All Diligence by Elder Eyring is so amazing. If we could all just exhort our brethren and sisters to be better and closer to god how amazing would that be !

Well, we picked Elder Howell up. He is from mcCamon Idaho. He is really a funny guy He is also only like 6 months older than ian so thats weird!   We had a good week and taught a ton of people- it was great.  I got the package thank you so much it was great. 

My ponderize scripture is from the Doctrine and Covenants section 9 verse 11  Behold, it was expedient when you commenced; but you feared, and the time is past, and it is not expedient now;  

 to put it into context Oliver cowdrey wanted to try translating and the lord granted him the chance but apparently he didn't do it and the time for the chance was over and he was only permitted to continue as scribe to Joseph smith.  verse 11 makes me think about the spiritual promptings that we receive but dont act on we may never get that chance or prompting again we will get others but never quite the same. Dont put off a prompting is what i was prompted while i read this

 it has been hot but it has also rained a ton here people are really surprised with all the rain and complain about the humidity but i love it! i dont even have to use lip balm anymore and my elbows arnt sand paper. also i would like it on cd also the supreza boxes are amazing not sure if i told you that or not. i do need some more razor blades but i can also get my own if you would like. so transfers were this last Saturday and................... elder bjork and i are staying in Blanding and ...... we are trio training so it will be us two and a brand new missionary fresh out kinda weird i feel like i was just there but now its my last transfers its honestly a little depressing but it impossible for me to be depressed as a missionary so i am fine. my ponderize scripture is Doctrine and covenants 128 verse  22 "Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad...."

 dont go backwards   go forwards have courage and act in faith. those are the thoughts i had as i read this verse. i also think its kinda funny how he seems to call out the " brethren"  haha 

sorry thats all this week  i didnt have time to email today we are leaving for farmington in 20 minutes to go to a meeting then pick up the new missionary in the morning !!! so excited
