Jan 9th update

This week was good!  Today we where supposed to get a foot and a half of snow but instead it just rained so maybe in a couple days we will get some. 

Casey got baptized it was great ! Halie decided to wait a little longer so we are working with that and Emilio is good for the 28th of January so exciting!  The Bayfield district meeting was just fantastic and lots of fun.  I got so energized  for member work.   They ask the missionaries in the ward if they have the Susan Fulcher case study.   Its a talk thing about working with members its so good.  If they don't I guess maybe you can find it on the internet and if not let me know I can send a copy it soooo gooood! 

  Tracting in the snow is a blast if someone rejects us instead of being very bothered like I normally am I just do a cool slid thing in the snow its super fun. or I just through a snow ball at there car ( just kidding I would never do that). I will get a micro sd card for the camera and yes a got it its a sweet little thing the shoes haven't gotten here yet. 

My ponderize scripture is in the book of mormon Enos chapter 1 verse 4 it says   

     And my soul hungered; and I kneeled down before my Maker, and I cried unto him in mighty prayer and supplication for mine own soul; and all the day long did I cry unto him; yea, and when the night came I did still raise my voice high that it reached the heavens. 

Prayer has been on my mind a lot lately its so important that we make it as real  and genuine as possible because I know he is listening and is also answering. I have been not just praying and then jumping up and going but thinking and listening for a little longer its been nice I am still working on it.

Hi everyone !  So for new years we had to be in by 6pm but we left at 8 to go get the transfer news..... Elder jeffery and I are both staying in Durango YES!!! 

But lots of the zone is leaving kinda sad but we went from 19 in the zone to 21! So that is great!  At 12am news years day was just a sleep so yeah,  pretty neat!  Ha But I did eat like 7 lindor truffles before bed hahha.  Its so pretty we got some more snow and it looks like it should be snowing all week off and on. 

Funny story I was wearing the boots uncle mark got me and yeah just trekking in the snow no problem then I was walking down some metal stairs and I slipped and just completely wiped out.   It hurt a lot but Elder Jeffery thought it was super funny.   Then some old lady came out and asked if I was okay. I said yes once I could speak again. I am okay now but yeah. At mlc the assistants challenged everyone to do a purification challenge.  I did do it once already in Page but its really nice to do it again I am trying even harder this time its been good for the 2 days so far.   I have been reading the 4th missionary talk by Elder Corbridge it is so good.   It really goes well with the purification challenge its wonderful. 

Actually my ponderize scripture came from it 

Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 

In the talk he uses this scripture in making the point of how important it is that we give our will to God.  Its the only thing we really can give that He doesn't have already. A miracle that is pretty neat that just happened -- cortez 1 ward (congregation)  sisters just found a man  and put on date for baptism  and he came to church and is doing everything its so amazing!   He is preparing to be baptized on jan 21st!!

Christmas

Well Christmas in Durango was beautiful!!! It was snowing lots on Christmas day. It was just a blast.  Crazy story, we parked at the top of our drive way and went inside to grab lunch and when we came back out the truck was gone!!  It had slid down the drive way about 30 ft and was like a foot and a half away from hitting a pole. ha!! 

 We got to go to a youth detention center with a member and teach some of the youth ( 18 or 19) who wanted to learn about the gospel  It was such a neat experience!  Some of them have truly been humbled and want to change.   There was one in particular named Travis.   He was only 18ish and just covered in tattoos and you could tell he had a rough life.   He now sees that God can make it better. 

 My ponderize scripture is 1 nephi 17:13 

13 And I will also be your light in the wilderness; and I will prepare the way before you, if it so be that ye shall keep my commandments; wherefore, inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments ye shall be led towards the promised land; and ye shall know that it is by me that ye are led.

I  love this because I have been lost in the woods or wilderness before and the reason I got lost was because it was so dark. If we look for the light and follow it (aka keep the commandments) we will be safe and make it too the promised land or to be with God again
