April 30

This week was kinda tough. My whole mission on average I have never struggled with finding people to teach. Now I am in the most populated area in the mission for any 2 missionaries to cover and we haven't found anyone in 2 weeks it is very frustrating.  But its is a good challenge and we have started some new tactics to find and we are excited for this next week. this next week we have a meeting in farmington Tuesday and a meeting in Cortez wednesday.  It should be great. Also, it snowed off and on this week it was very cold and wet but nothing to bad.

My Ponderize scripture is 3 Nephi 11:1-7
I think its interesting that the people where talking about Christ ( a very good thing to do) yet they still didn't understand the voice of God. I think that we do that some times i know i have I say good things and I even do good things most the time but i still don't always here god. It is important to listen to spiritual promptings.  That is something I am focusing on right now I need to get better at it.

1 And now it came to pass that there were a great multitude gathered together, of the people of Nephi, round about the temple which was in the land Bountiful; and they were marveling and wondering one with another, and were showing one to another the great and marvelous change which had taken place.
2   And they were also conversing about this Jesus Christ, of whom the sign had been given concerning his death.
3    And it came to pass that while they were thus conversing one with another, they heard a voice as if it came out of heaven; and they cast their eyes round about, for they understood not the voice which they heard; and it was not a harsh voice, neither was it a loud voice; nevertheless, and notwithstanding it being a small voice it did pierce them that did hear to the center, insomuch that there was no part of their frame that it did not cause to quake; yea, it did pierce them to the very soul, and did cause their hearts to burn.
4    And it came to pass that again they heard the voice, and they understood it not.
5    And again the third time they did hear the voice, and did open their ears to hear it; and their eyes were towards the sound thereof; and they did look steadfastly towards heaven, from whence the sound came.
6    And behold, the third time they did understand the voice which they heard; and it said unto them:
7    Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name—hear ye him.

Okay,  well this week was warmer so thats nice ha.   We taught a ton of people it was great teaching is more fun than tracting. usually.....hahahah j i kinda like tracting sometimes though. anyways I dont know if I mentioned this yet but our ward mission leader is now the branch president of the Silverton branch.  So yeah, we don't have a ward mission leader but brother black is stepping in for now and he is doing a great job but we will miss brother gurr  he was fantastic too.
Last week we went on an epic bike ride up in the mountains . I figured out how to kinda drift / fish tail on the mountiain bike so I did a lot fo that by the time we got back to our house I realized my back tire was falling off ha! The biking trip was about 10-12 mile round trip it took us 1.5 hours to get up and 20 min to get down so it was brutal here are some pics.

This week my ponderize scripture is Doctrine and Covenants 84:43-44
43 And I now give unto you a commandment to beware concerning yourselves, to give diligent heed to the words of eternal life.

44 For you shall live by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God.

T have been thinking lately and these verses reminded me of it that we  are often our own worst enemy. so we must beware the things we do and have genuine concern for our selfs particularly spiritually in the talk from Elder sabin he talks of our covenants and how we need to  " .......be “all in” ( rather )"than partially in. "

I am trying to be all in and understand more of what i am all in for.

Easter was great! It was one of my favorite sacrament meetings in this ward yet.   It was so powerful. A lady talked about how several years ago she had accidentally ran over and killed her little girl. Her little girl would have been 8 last week. It was so amazing to hear her tell her story how the Savior carried the load of that tragedy in her life .  I could not imagine that guilt and sorrow that she had but she is at peace now and has been able to move on in her life.   She has 2 girls and her husband is still with her. Pretty amazing story it was inspiring and very hope filling.

On another note we have noticed that we are finding better again and the members are helping too. Example
a lady was praying for a miracle and then a lady in our ward just saw her out the window and invited her to come to church with her and she did!

my ponderize scripture is Alma 39:9-10
9 Now my son, I would that ye should repent and forsake your sins, and go no more after the lusts of your eyes, but cross yourself in all these things; for except ye do this ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God. Oh, remember, and take it upon you, and cross yourself in these things.

10 And I command you to take it upon you to counsel with your elder brothers in your undertakings; for behold, thou art in thy youth, and ye stand in need to be nourished by your brothers. And give heed to their counsel.

I love this --take counsel from your older brothers because Jesus Christ is our big brother and He gave the best council. Also it says to cross yourself when you are about to do something you shouldn't just remember why you shouldn't do it. Cross yourself until you dont want to do it any more.

Well these last couple weeks we have had two missionary go to the hospital one is home recovering in Utah and the other is still undecided what is wrong so please pray for them they need it.

-------------------------------------------------HAPPY EASTER IN 6 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Well this week was great People just started popping up at church that we never met before we had three people walk 5 miles to get to church! Pretty neat we also had bro lambert translate for the Cruz family.   It was super awesome.   We have a baptism this weekend the kid is 8 but we have been teaching his family (mom big bro and him) for 6 months so we are happy he is getting baptized too.   His big bro did about a month ago his is 11 and his mom was a member but hadn't gone to church in a while like years so they are doing great Julian the 8 year old will be getting baptized with 2 other family in the ward, the Zufelts and the Ramos family.   So it is going to be a very Hispanic baptism we are so excited for them all.
Something funny and kinda crazy is that some teaching records from 2 years ago we saw a lady name Maria and so we visited her and she is still there so we set up a time to go back and teach her i am excited to see what happens there. this week I was asked to give a training on charity not because I am good at it but because I need to learn to have it.hahah so
I was studying that and a talk from General conference really stuck out to me it was the talk by S. Mark Palmer here is the link https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2017/04/then-jesus-beholding-him-loved-him?lang=eng at about the 5 min mark he talks of three things or ways to have charity
1. pray for it! with all energy of heart (moroni 7:48)  2. pray to see others as the lord sees them. 3. when you greet or meet someone look them in the eyes not to long that's weird but as you do do so with a prayer in heart to feel the love God has for them. I testify that this works it really does you will feel it if you are sincere I promise.

so naturarly my ponderize scripture is 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verses 1-3 1 YOU MUST HAVE CHARITY
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as‍ sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor,‍ and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

and yes mom I got the Easter package and I am doing the count down being in Durango ( pot is legal and everyone loves it) when I saw the bag of herbs that reference that scripture I was freaked out for a second but then we realized what it really was so we calmed down. ps the salmon made it to Durango and into my mouth

Also because of my companions exceptional musical abilities we have been drafted to the ward choir and I have no idea what I am doing but oh well .

April 1st
Okay, I am doing really good actually!   I have everything I need & suit season is finely over- yippy!!!!!
I am looking forward to that package.
This general conference was absolutely amazing!  I loved it in fact my ponderize scripture is probably just listen to conference ha! I really liked Elder Ballards talk it helped me a ton and I know that it helped Elder Lewis a lot too. But If I had to choose a written article or document it would be "The Living Christ" that was talked about so much so we got some and are giving it out and reading it lots it is fantastic!
This last week was the Durango spring break..... in snowed hahahahh It is and was so cold.  Transfers was crazy I found out lots of changes happened to my past companions and areas and other wonderful missionary's I love so much .
Things are going very well here in the Durango zone. One miracle is the talk last session on Sunday that was about investigators. in that very session we had an investigator who began investigating the church because of a girl he wants to marry which is exactly what the talk was about and he was there.

I am so excited for him hahahahahh its SO AMAZING THE CHURCH IS TRUE I KNOW IT I KNOW IT!!!!!!! Anyways that really doesn't even represent a fraction of how much I loved general conference well love you all.
