Feb 13 & new address

Well this week was warm it was weird!  

   One morning for workouts me and elder Jeffery went for a bike ride on a road that we have never been on, turns out it is super duper pretty and hilly hahahah!   My legs where feeling that one.  Its snowing right now though we got about an inch so far. 

   We had transfers and the news is......... Elder Jeffery is going to Page 1st ward! Its so great. Before I came to Durango I was in Page 5th ward I am so excited for him and I am trying to fill him in on every detail hahahah its so great. Also it's sad to have him go but I will be getting Elder Lewis who came out with me so that should be good.  

 I have herd really good things about him but I don't actually know him. 

  I cant believe McKenna is home now that's crazy! Also, with the whole burning a tie like that elder did for his 6th month mark yeah I didn't do that.   I guess it a tradition to burn a suit or a shirt at 18 months but I wont be doing that. Not my thing  

  We are teaching some great people they are doing well and hopefully they will be getting baptized soon. My ponderize scripture is 

Doctrine and covenants 43:11 "Purge ye out the iniquity which is among you; sanctify yourselves before me;" 

 I love this scripture and this section of scripture because its very important to have the spirit with you at all times and do do that we must sanctify ourselves;.

In answering a the question of how do missionaries have the spirit more Elder Oaks said in a missionary broadcast recently that we need to "Partake of the sacrament"  It was great especially because everyone was expecting a long answer and he just gave a one liner. but its so true in the sacrament prayer it says "...always remember him (Jesus Christ , and keep his commandments which he hath given them, 

that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen." 

I like those scriptures.

Feb 7th

So the reason I didn't email yesterday was because we had a mission tour with elder Arnold of the 70. Yes that is the same  Elder Arnold that was Uncle Frostys mission president and yes I did have a chance to talk with him briefly about that. He says hi Elder Nunley hahahah!!! And he said you were a great assistant. Also,  I got to have an interview with him as did my companion and 10 or so other missionary's. I will just say he has the gift of discernment it was incredible and he gave me some very good and very needed advice on something most people don't even know about me!  It was a good meeting.   He gave us so many things that we can do to improve the work here in this mission and be better missionarys the rest of our lives.   He is a very good missionary and he has some insane stories to back it up.   For example,  he was walking and asked someone if they would like to learn more and they pulled a gun on him so he asked them who they know that would like to hear that message then walked away. Honestly I could probably try to remember every single thing that was said at the meeting but I would be typing all day and I only have 1 hour so yeah sorry. Just know that there is no doubt in my mind that he is called of God. That to me is a fact and if you where there and talked to him you would agree.

 My ponderize scripture comes from something Elder Arnold brought up it was how the Nephites had such unity and peace after the Savior left them and its through prayer. Just look at  

3 nephi 19:19( and the rest of the chapter)

 19" And it came to pass that Jesus departed out of the midst of them, and went a little way off from them and bowed himself to the earth..."

 I just love when Jesus prays because you can feel how real it is He knows exactly who he is talking to and its not just words we say but its him talking to his father.  Also like Elder Arnold talked about and brought to my attention there is a ton of praying in this chapter Jesus prays his  disciples pray the people pray, then they all pray again. pray is so important in bringing people together.  

Hello this week was great kinda crazy.  We had MLC An exchange and the world wide missionary broadcast  and we got sick !  hahah but it was all fantastic!   Durango is amazing I could be a missionary here for a long time. But of course that's not up to me.  I saw those picture of ian jaden and joseph lookin goooood I loved jadens shirt the most though. So yeah it has been good Emilio will be getting baptized this week so that's super duper exciting and we are working with some other people that are super close.
1 really neat thing that happened this week was we got to go up to purgatory ( sky lodge) and have dinner with some members and contact a referral it is sooo pretty up there and they got like 3 feet of snow,  like there was a car that was totally buried in snow ha!

my ponderize scripture is moroni 7:16
16 For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.

 It reminds me of something Elder Bednar always says for example "  I simply wanted to be a good boy...The Lord needs all of us as bearers of His authority to be honorable, virtuous, and good boys at all times and in all places." April 2012 general conference .

January 22

Hey!  So great week lots of miracles!  We both fasted for more people to teach that are ready to progress in the gospel and its most definitely happening!   The ward (congregation) here is so great and they always help us out in teaching and finding it amazing. 

Lets see this week we got about 1 and a half feet of snow so far we are supposed to get more tonight and tomorrow so that should be neat. Sorry I forgot the cord for connecting my camera to the computer so the sweet pictures of snow will have to wait until next week. 

 My ponderize scripture is mark 9:29  And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting  

The context for this scripture is the apostles couldn't heal this boy and they asked Jesus why they couldn't and thats what he said, he then promptly healed the boy.  I love this event in the Saviors life because it shows lots of things. Some being the importance of priesthood authority, worthiness, faith, obedience to the commandments and miracles. This is something we are trying to do here is pray and fast more because we know that if we do that as 

well as be obedient.

hopefully that was enough pictures for now. dang how did coach do in the alumni game?  so this week is going good we have been having fun we got to go on exchanges and i got to go with elder Johnston my friend from the MTC it was sooooo fun we had a couple of great lessons the spirit was sure there it was great. also we are still having fun in the snow but it actually hasn't snowed in a while its kinda sad. yeah this week was crazy busy with zone training on Thursday then right after we drove to farmington for the exchange with some elders there but it was worth it!!  

my ponderize scripture is 1 Nephi 9:5-6 

5 Wherefore, the Lord hath commanded me to make these plates for a wise purpose in him, which purpose I know not.

 6 But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold, he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words. And thus it is. Amen

. 

 I think thats wonderful because it shows how great nephi's faith is. It also is a good reminder to remember if we dont know why something is happening in our life we can trust that God does.
